Quarterly
I am apparently incapable of a regular posting schedule. I'm too easily distracted. I'm always working on something but what it is shifts from day to day, week to week. I start with one thing then I get caught on threads until I'm twenty layers deep and nowhere near where I intended. Four months ago I was working on Somnos, Novos, the website, and the Manifest character builder. Then I realized I needed to finish a Praxis subsystem so that I could finish the builder. Then I realized there was a lot more work to do on the game system than just the subsystem. Then a full review, multiple schemas, a revision of the core game rules, a total rewrite of the website, then content creation and revision... it's all progress but it's never linear.
Things that have changed:
- Praxis
- System has been revised and substantially expanded in numerous ways, bringing it much closer to the second version I'd intended to write over a year ago.
- Forms system finally fully defined in the rules. This was something I'd been stuck on for a while. I had the concept and the structure but the implementation never landed because I had a lot of unsettled lower-level decisions and couldn't figure out the right level of detail. Sorting that out took probably a month and I had to iterate, going from part to system to schema at least three times.
- Traits and Equipment catalogs have been updated filled out with missing values. This has probably been the biggest set of work in that it's a lot of small decisions and judgement calls cross-walked against the revised game rules.
- A draft of Parts, Forms, and Vehicles content exists but it's not quite ready for publishing yet. This cluster represents the least developed portion of the work.
- Novos
- Added and cleaned up a variety of content.
- Started a Xenobiology project to start documenting alien ecosystems that will eventually make its way here.
- Aeldos
- Started review of articles. Most of the Aeldos content was migrated via script from Legendkeeper with LLM assistance to try and tidy things up but the results aren't where I want them to be. The data is present but it's as messy as it was in LK.
- Took down the bestiary articles so I can repost them after reviewing each.
- Axim
- The website itself has had some significant revisions and updates. Bloat reduction, bug fixes, UI improvements.
- Reduced deployment time substantially in the hopes that a faster deployment will make me more likely to update regularly.
- Supporting Tools
- Built an Obsidian plugin to help with the creation of Forms and Vehicles.
- Numerous scripts for bulk checking and updating of Catalog data.
